Your Package Isn’t Missing. Your Information Might Be!
Don’t let scammers deliver a frightening surprise to your inbox!
Imagine receiving a text message from USPS, UPS, or FedEx claiming your package couldn’t be delivered because of an incorrect address. The message includes a link asking you to update your information or pay a small redelivery fee. Sounds harmless, right? Unfortunately, it could be a scam designed to steal your personal and financial information. Scammers send fake delivery notifications through text messages or emails, often claiming your package is delayed, your address is incorrect, or a small payment is required. Clicking the link takes you to a fraudulent website that looks like a legitimate shipping company’s page. Once there, you’re asked to provide personal information, credit card details, or other sensitive information. If you entered your debit or credit card information, contact your financial institution immediately. If you shared a password, change it right away and monitor your accounts for suspicious activity. Scammers may be getting more creative, but a little caution can help keep your money and personal information safe. Remember: The scariest delivery is one that steals your financial security! At SRI Federal Credit Union, we’re committed to helping our members stay informed, protected, and financially secure. How the Scam Works
