What is the best way to properly endorsing checks for mobile deposit?

Regulation CC addressed this issue in 2018. It is recommended that financial institutions have their accountholders indorse checks by indicating both the method of deposit and include the name of the Bank of First Deposit (BOFD), such as; “For Mobile Deposit Only to ABC Bank.” This reduces the risk of the check being cashed or deposited elsewhere. If a financial institution accepts a paper check, previously endorsed to another financial institution, that second BOFD may be held liable. Without this endorsement, the institution that accepted the mobile deposit may have to repay the funds. Thus, it is very important to include “for mobile deposit only” or “for mobile deposit only to SRIFCU”.

The credit union started requiring this when, in fact, we incurred a loss from a mobile deposit check where the paper check was later negotiated elsewhere later.
